Online Credit Card Processing Service
An Online Credit Card Processing Service is a commercial company that furnishes software and services which enable credit card transactions initiated on a website to be immediately electronically processed over the Internet. 

Search Engines and Directories
Internet search engines and directories are online services that function like a phone directory for the Internet and are used when trying to find a website for which the domain name is unknown.
 
 
Secure Server
A secure server is a type of web server used to send and receive content such as credit card sales transactions in an encrypted form to prevent interception or theft. The address of a web page transmitted by a secure server starts with the prefix https: instead of the normal http: prefix used for standard web servers.
 
Secure Site Certificate
A secure site certificate is issued by an Internet Verification Service to verify for a visitor’s browser that a website using a secure server to receive information is in truly what it claims to be.

Shopping Cart
A shopping cart is a software program installed on a website that enables online sales to be consummated, by keeping track of individual customers as they wander around a website selecting various items to purchase, and processing the resulting customer orders.
 
URL
Every web page has a unique numerical address on the Internet, which is called its Universal Resource Locator (URL). 

 
Web
The Web is an abbreviation for World Wide Web (also abbreviated www) which is a fundamental part of the Internet, where information is transmitted over the Internet in a document format called a web page, using a cross-platform programming language (HTML).

 
  
Web Browser
A web browser is a software program that a computer needs in order to view a web page on the Internet. Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are examples of browsers

 
Web Host
A web host is a commercial company that makes web pages available on the Internet, usually for a monthly fee, by storing the web pages on web servers owned and maintained by them.
 
Web Page
A web page is a document created in a particular format designed for transmission over the Internet, which is coded in the HTML programming language understood by web browsers.

 

Web Server
A web server is a special computer used to store web sites and make them available over the Internet. These computers are capable of storing large amounts of data and also have multiple connections to the Internet, creating the ability to simultaneously handle multiple communication transactions.

Website
A web site is a collection of related web pages stored together on a web server and accessible by a shared domain name.
